Designing a Star Wars rpg character
I was designing the background for my Star wars character and I thought I mention Wookiepedia.
Check it out, timeline, races, planets. Very very handy.

Information that will help build the wildlife in your world. I’m planing poisonous caterpillars for dnd.

I also picked up Earthdawn 2ed for about 10 euros at Warpcon. Love the background. The system is unusual but I want to give it a try. I heard that its set in Shadowruns past. I don’t quite see how they connect up to SR 4ed, that but the background story has a Shadowrun feel.
Here is the wikipedia site for Earthdawn which tells you a bit about the background.
Since I got the Tunnels and Trolls 7ed box set I thought I’d see what material is available on the net.
I found Aaron Thorne’s Tunnels & Trolls Page. Lots of links and he talks about how he runs it.
A wikipedia page for Tunnels and Trolls mentioning the fact it introduced the idea of different character types including non-humans. It also
introduced the idea that armour — which had been merged with defence in Dungeons & Dragons, making a character harder to hit — actually absorbed damage rather than reducing the danger of being hit.
It influenced Runequest which I would like to have the rule book for, but don’t yet.
There is an abridged version of the rules here. T&T uses d6’s.

Am I the only adult who has read this? They get reborn how?
..the deceased spirit enters a surrogate faeriefolk female of adult age and induces pregnacy without need for sex.
His rebirth mother helps him in this as much as possible, for serving as the vessel for a reincarnate is a great honor.
How is this not disgusting and horrific? How is this acceptable?
Please tell me.. actually just tell me, forget the please, that this is a stupid idea added for dnd, rather than an ‘acceptable’ idea thats been in the design for the start.
In case you don’t get why this isn’t ok. People’s bodys are their own, not your’s and definately not just to let you keep your character if you are dumb enough to get your character killed.
Very different than expected.
I didn’t end up being in that many rpgs, only one on the saturday evening and one that I didn’t get to finish on sunday. On the sunday morning the con opened late. T’s game started way late, started running at about 12.
Mine was to start at 2, but I put it back to 3 in order to try to give a chance for players who wanted to be in the game, but whose game was running late a chance (they didnt make it anyway). Probally a mistake in the end, the game would have had more flavor to it if I got a bit longer with it. It ran 3.20-5.30 or so.
I was left feeling tired and confused. Ah well. I dont think I want to run a game at such a late slot again.
It would have been nice if we weren’t getting chased out of the hall every day. Why didn’t they give themselves an hour after everything was supposed to end to wrap up?
I bought way more rpg books than planned. I found Tunnels and Trolls! Very old school. Never been in a game of it ran by anyone, but now I can run it myself and see what its like.
The food at the con was poor. There was nowhere local selling hot food, just a cafateria selling sandwhichs. So proper meals did not really happen.
I think I had fun, but the stress and noise and disorganisation took away from it.
Ah lovely. Just my sentiment. Not only for the reasons said but for more. I used to love X-men but marvel caused me to hate them. These 3 films have added to all the fans who have just walked away.
I have previously used in rpg games
5. Urchin approaches for minor scam
11. Beggar asks for alms
12. Children pester party
18. Street vendor (food, drink, trinkets, etc.)
29. Street performer(s)
30. Religious fanatic
And varients on some of the others. I’m suggesting a few more.
151. Another adverturing party waits outside a pub.
152. A pub brawl continues out of a pub.
153. A street vendor sells the party stolen goods.
154. Two guards watch a building.
155. A person dressed as the opposite gender passes by the party.
Yip I am running an independent game at warpcon on the sunday of this weekend.
Hope at the End of the World.
System: Cyberpunk 2020. Rating: 17+. GM: Mary Gilmartin.
Long long ago, there was more people in the world, you believe that as a truth. You see all they left behind. These great women and men, who were leaders of their people, have left in the ruins devices of healing and war. You have found their teachings and you bring them to the small settlements and gangs you meet. They travelled to the stars and brought hope into the darkness. Then they went away, somewhere. You will become like them, in order to follow them. Death is not the end.
