Cp life

March 26, 2007 at 10:21 pm (Cyberpunk)

Still no memory. Damn. Wish my solo still drank.

Looks like we are going to have to go hunting without him.

Beyond that the russian mission went well. Some crazy veetol driving, but the team held. We swept in, two pickups, one drop and back home.

All the work I aff’ed has went well and is done or ready to go. Two other jobs (for inhouse) needs to be thought through and set up.

Next its out to the swamps, our first basecamp in open ground against targets who we dont see on camera. … ohhh. what about an base in the air…? That would work.

The hard part of being a leader

February 8, 2007 at 11:38 am (Cyberpunk)

The hard part of being a leader is the act of leading. The statement that you do know better than others, that they should trust in you, that you will make decisions at times without asking them. You act for them. You decide for them.

Its even harder when you act on behalf of someone you love. The knowledge that you might make the wrong decision. How little at times you really know. How scared at times you might be. They won’t and should NOT see any of that.

Thats the point, you takes these risks and responsibilites so they dont have to. The buck stops with you. You decide whats good for the team. You decide who lives and who dies. And if one of your own needs to be put down. You put them down.

This whole line of thought is formed from two difficult threads. My cp characters lovers memory and a exfriends mistakes. One might be solved with time, or the fact I’m telling him anything about himself might force his memorys return. Him regaining his difficult memories will return him to the person who cant get past his past. Him not remembering means I lose him.

The exfriends mistakes have risked lives, and droven one person mad. His skills are mostly, but not totally replaced. His family would be better off with a better parent. So why havent I got rid of him. Transfered his responsibility and disposed of him? The fact he is a pc isnt the reason. It might be an excuse though.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Our Cyberpunk Game

February 5, 2007 at 10:44 am (Cyberpunk)

The cyberpunk game I play in, was at the weekend. One of the players characters bought a gang. That was quiet unexpected. They have still a lot of work to do to keep it, but thats needed for everything.

He already is thinking off ‘respect’ not rep 😉

From my characters point of view the game was very strange. My merc team people are now begining to get people of their own, we are now an international organisation, we make multimillion revenues and have world spanning contacts through our well placed allies. We have a private elite army in the form of our merc team. We know some of the deep dark secrets of the world. My little merc team is begining to grow up.

Are we now corps?  Maybe. Our patron betted right after all.

Also the guy my character is dateing has amnesia. He is now innocent and sweet, compared to the rude, world weary, person she knew. Got to say, while its fits that this could happen and in many ways its an old gm trick, as a player, its still confusing.  I know what to do action-wise (nothing) but emotions and thoughts *shrug* I have no idea.

Cp Game last night

December 1, 2006 at 12:31 pm (Cyberpunk)

I ran my Cp game last night. I changed from my normal night due to player request, it worked out ok, the one player who would have had difficulty can’t really make games this week anyway. Pity he would have added to last nights game.

But one player whose character is a a spiral downwards at the moment, ran into some trouble. He rolled a one, used luck, rolled another one, by our system thats 1,1 so a botch. He spent 4 luck to reroll, but this roll is on gm wim so I get to decided what to do, and rolled a 10 and then a three (you rerolled 10s and added them in cp) so a 13. So I decided what I was going to do something with that. I decided to see if I could make him betray the party. I warned him by commenting one theory where unlucky 13 came from, judas at the last supper.

He managed to get himself captured by poor tactics and failed rolls and he was being questions. The woman who was in charge started questioning him. He has also came across as a foreign spy. He was also threatened with death and mindstriping.

He had just described the party when they turned up. So the party was questioned by the npc to find out if they were spys. One said he was a nobel from a foreign country. A player not in the scene realised that saying that meant that the noble would be earmarked for mindstripping.

The party got out of it partly helped by npc mistakes but they learned a lot and got more clues to their situation in the maze. Then are now left with a possible midboss next game.

All in all a good game. The players did well and we had a good atmosphere.
